Steps to Set up Webmail in Microsoft Outlook

Based on the version of Outlook you're using, the steps on how to connect your Webmail account to Outlook may vary slightly but the following steps would give you an idea on what needs to be done. On newer versions, you can skip steps 1 to 3 and go directly to step 4 by entering you email address and checking the advanced option 'Let me setup my account manually'.

1. Open Outlook and select the File menu.

2. From the left pane, select Info and then select Add Account.

3. From the Add Account dialogue box, select the radio button, Manual setup, or additional server type.’ Click Next.

4. Now select the box, POP or IMAP, and then click Next.

5. Provide the details as asked in the Account Settings option. Ignore step a, b and e if you're using a newer version of Outlook.
a) Enter your Name and Email Address.
b) Select IMAP as the account type.
c) Enter incoming and outgoing server details provided by your web host. Select Encryption Method as SSL/TLS.
d) Under Log in details, enter the email address and password of the webmail you wish to configure.
e) Select More Settings.

6. Select the tab Outgoing Server and then check the dialogue box, My outgoing server requires authentication. Steps 6 to 11 are not necessary on newer versions of Outlook.

7. Select the Advanced tab.
a) For Incoming Server (IMAP), enter 993 and select SSL.
b) For Outgoing Server (SMTP), enter 465 and select SSL.
c) Click OK.

8. You will be asked, ‘Do you want to continue using this server.’ Click on Yes.

9. Select Test Account Settings to verify the steps.

10. Under the Test Account Settings option, there will be a tick bar on both ‘Log onto incoming mail server POP3’ and ‘Send test email message.’ This implies that the process is completed.

11. Click Finish.
